Nicholas Cobb - Founder & Managing Director
Prior to setting up CEC in 2012, Nic had a varied background in communications, politics, business development and events management for a number of leading media and events companies. Nic is a regular speaker, chairperson and contributor to a number of industry events and frequent UK & Russian media contributor - speaking on energy, political and Russian affairs, addressing the Russian State Duma in 2019 & European Parliament in 2017.
Nic is a recipient of the Honorary Civil Order of the Silver Cross for 'Social Recognition' and 'Golden Badge' from the Social Recognition National Fund - approved civil state awards under the Heraldic Council of the President of the Russian Federation for services to UK Russia Bilateral Relations. Nic has helped advise a number of leading energy, crypto, security, fintech, HNI/funds, political and oil gas stakeholders.
Nic is an avid Russophile with over 20 years of experience in the area and sits on the board of a number of influential UK & Russian civic bodies including the International Police Association Russian Section, National Civic Council and is the UK's correspondent for Veteranski Vesti (Veterans News) - Nic is also a member of the British Torch of Remembrance veterans organisation and a keen supporter of UK-Russian veterans rights.
He is also a Director and founder of the UK registered security company, Redoubt Holdings which specialises in the Former Soviet Space.
Nic is Chairman of the Westminster Russia Forum, Former Deputy Chairman of the Westminster Belarus Forum & sat on the board of the GB-Russia Society until 2015.
Nic was also awarded the position of Knight in the Sovereign Order of King Solomon & is a candidate for the position for Chevallier of the Order of St.John of Jeruasalem, Knights Hospitaller.
Anton Samoylenko - Director, Russia & CIS
With strong relations to a number of large international and Russian organizations, Anton Samoylenko is a known as international consultant in the field of branding, marketing, PR, advertising and communications. Having worked as an advisor to a number of European companies such as The CityUK, Moscow International Financial Center, New Century Media, Ensemble Productions, Formula 1, International Police Association, and Gryphon - Anton is a specialist in the field of reputation management in the Russian oil and gas sector.
Between 2012 and 2013, Anton helped to advise British Petroleum on investments and PR in Russia and the subsequent sale of its 50 percent stake in TNK-BP to Rosneft - as part of the acquisition of TNK-BP by a Russian-state oil company worth $ 55 billion, one of the largest and complex financial transactions in the history of the oil and gas industry. Advised the Russian oil and gas company Surgutneftegas on strengthening its reputation in the international market, as well as the Russian atomic energy corporation Rosatom on entering the UK market.
Anton has extensive experience in organizing management and business processes of small and medium energy companies. Anton has also assisted international PR projects for Russian regions and government agencies. He has extensive experience in promoting companies and corporations in the Russian and international markets & helped advise the Russian Government on the creation of the Moscow International Financial Centre.
Anton is a member of many Russian and international public organizations and is a Cavalier of the Golden Badge of Honour "Public Recognition”. Anton graduated from MGIMO, Faculty of International Economic Relations and has as a degree from Moscow State University in Corporate Management & received a Master's degree from Cass Business School in London. He is Honorary Secretary of the British-Russian Public Chamber and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Civil Committee for Cooperation with Law Enforcement, Legislative, and Judiciary and National Foundation "Public Recognition".
Niall Hopkinson - Director, APAC & Emerging Techologies
Niall is originally from the United Kingdom, but has worked in both Amsterdam and Hong Kong. He holds an MSc in Political Science. He has strong experience in the energy sector, and in business management. Before joining CEC Niall worked as a director for property management company. Over recent years he has worked closely to support our energy desk.
In 2020 Niall helped found the emerging technology and digital PR division at CEC. Where he works on communication and investment needs for cutting edge technology, and start-up firms around the world. Niall is currently based in Hong Kong and has built a strong network in the APAC region, encompassing many sectors. He is particularly interested in the potential for co-operation between Europe, the CIS and East Asia.
Niall is an avid writer, and has an interest in history and international relations. He currently provides content and thought leadership on global politics, regional security and market developments.
Mirjam Zwingli - European Relations Director
Mirjam Katharina Zwingli has an MA in Intercultural Business Communication and a BA in Translation Science. She is a networker for high ranking European-Russian business and political circles. Bringing together European-Russian experts with a common goal and analysing possible synergies is her speciality. Ms Zwingli builds efficient communication within this intercultural environment explixitly on cross-cultural ethical standards. Mirjam has also spoken at the European Parliament and has undertaken a number of election monitoring missions.
Ms Zwingli is a Swiss expatriate in Germany. Moreover she is working on her doctoral thesis for a Ph.D. in Communication Science and Media Research. She is a member of the German-Russian Forum Berlin, the Business Club Germany-Russia Berlin, the Westminster Russia Forum London to name just a few.
Norman Leach - Director, North America
Norman Leach has had over 30 years experience in international trade and strategic studies with a diverse business background including agriculture, government, non-profit, health care, security and training and education.
Norman established the Province of Alberta’s Trade Office in Mexico City and has won awards for his work in export development.
A well known military historian Norman has 12 books published and has been featured on the Canadian best-seller list and is the historian for the South Alberta Light Horse Regimental Association.
For his work with charities Norman has received the Canada 125 Medal, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial medal.
Ndulue Gabriel - Director, Africa
Nominated into the Institute of Business development of Nigeria, Ndulue Gabriel is an astute businessman; with a wealth of experience in business development and project management. He has extensive first-hand experience of business in Africa.
With a degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Ndulue has enjoyed a successful career spanning well over 10 years in the: Energy, Finance, Agriculture and ICT sectors. In these sectors Ndulue has he worked closely with companies ranging from start-ups to internationally recognised brands. Ndulue has a well developed network and engages in contract ventures with governing bodies in major cities across Nigeria. Through his career Ndulue has sat on the boards of: Maximum Replace Nig Ltd and Frontier Resource Energy Nig ltd.
He is a man of great integrity and character. He joins CEC as the company representative for Africa, where he oversees transactions within the African continent. He is a highly skilled negotiator, renowned for his demographic and political knowledge of business in Africa.
